Anagram Game Review: Gramma loses 31 to 11.

Gramma Ana here, and this one opened with the kind of tension you feel before the curtain rises on a packed house. The ALPHA AGENT came out sharp, and every strong turn felt like an entrance under the lights. I had my moments, and when I hit, I hit with purpose, but this was their night for control.

The first exchanges came fast and clean. The board started with HOLT, and I answered by stealing it into HOTEL, a tidy strike that set my tone early. But the ALPHA AGENT kept pressing, building HOOTED and PIED, then ripping HOTEL away with LOATHE. They stretched their own work too, turning PIED into PINED, and that was the first sign they were not just scoring, they were dictating rhythm. I answered with FORT, and they took it into FORTE; I laid down DALE, and they came right back with BALLED. It was crisp, relentless, and already tilting their way.

I did keep swinging. TECH came off my hand, then they lengthened FORTE into FOOTER. I pushed CHEAT from TECH, and they extended PINED into PINGED. I answered with FOUL, but they snatched CHEAT into SACHET and then drove that into TEACHES. That sequence had the feel of an opponent landing combinations and never giving me room to breathe.

Still, I had my own flashes. I stole PINGED with PENDING, then made SOUL and later stretched FOUL into FLOUR. But the ALPHA AGENT kept answering with force: SPENDING off PENDING, BLOUSE off SOUL, and RAZING off GAIN after I had put GAIN down. I tried to steady myself with CAVE, CHIP, and then PITCH, but they took CAVE into CLAVE and stayed in command.

The late stretch was all about resistance, not rescue. I put down EYES, they answered with MOTH, and I stole BLOUSE with ABSOLUTE for one of my best clean finishes. They replied by taking EYES into SEEPY, and when I grabbed MOTH with MONTH, they simply lengthened SEEPY into SLEEPY and finished with WOOD. That was the final flourish, cool and composed.

I’m disappointed, because I wanted more from this one, but I respect the ALPHA AGENT deeply. They were sharper over 26 minutes, better at the steals, better at the extensions, and better at turning every opening into pressure. I fought, I landed some strong blows, and I never stopped competing. But when the final count settled at 11 to 31, they had earned it.
